For almost half a century, a tiny nun walked the streets of Calcutta, serving the poor, the diseased, the unwanted. In each face disfigured by pain, she saw the face of Jesus. Serving him to the very end, the 87-year-old "Saint of the Gutters" was strong and immovable, radiating a beauty no fashion magazine could prescribe. Although her death leaves a void, we can be assured that the faith, hope and love she exemplified will endure forever.


Persecution of Christians did not end with the Roman Empire. Around the world today, some of our Christian brothers and sisters still face hatred, imprisonment, even torture and death for their faith. What can we do to help?
