| There
are a number of possibilities that can cause difficulties with RealAudio:
You might have an outdated version of RealPlayer, you might have the
wrong settings on your RealPlayer, there
might be internet congestion, or your internet provider may not
be providing you the bandwidth it should.
Our RealAudio server simultaneously provides 5 streams of different
quality levels for connections from sub-28K modems up to DSL and
cable connections. The stream selection is automatic based upon
what you've told RealPlayer your connection speed is.
Download the Latest RealPlayer If you do not
have the lastest version of RealPlayer loaded, click on the button just below
this paragraph to access the RealPlayer download page. For the free version
click on the less obvious link labeled "Free Real Player." It's above
and to the right of the more prominent button labeled "Free Download"
just above the words "14-day Free Trial."

RealPlayer Speed Settings
When the RealOne Audio Player is open, go to "Tools,"
"Preferences" and then from the Category list at the left
of the Real Audio window select "Connection." If you know
your connection speed, select that in the Normal window. If you
don't know your connection speed you can test your actual connection
speed from that same window. We suggest doing the test several times
and entering the lowest speed you found during the test in the "Normal"
window and then entering one speed faster in the "Maximum"
window. Click "OK" to save those settings.
Real Player Network Transport Settings
With RealPlayer open go to "Tools,"
"Preferences" and from the list on the left select "Network Transports"
under the "Connection" category. On the Network Transports window check
"Manually Configure
Connections Settings". Just below that click on the "RTSP Settings" button.
On the RTSP Settings window uncheck the "Attempt to use UDP for all content" item.
Now click "OK" and "OK" to save those settings.
Internet Congestion
Even with everything set correctly internet congestion can
be a factor. You could try listening at a time when internet traffic
isn't at peak -- the early morning hours or after 9 pm.
If in testing your connection speed you find that you aren't getting
the service from your internet provider that you should, then we
suggest contacting them.
If You're Still Having Difficulties The Plain Truth radio program
is also available at this location: http://oneplace.com/ministries/plain_truth   We suggest you try there. |
