Just a note to tell you the last two Plain Truth issues ROCKED! I loved the article "True Christianity: The Un-religion" from the Summer issue, and LOVE the Santana article about the dark night of the soul in the Fall issue. Also the 9/11 article that addressed religious violence and control—and the best was "Eternity Now." I had stopped reading the PT for a while, but these two issues and some of the specific issues you've been addressing have weighed heavily on my heart (ie: 1) the so-called angry god, 2) religion defiling our conscience and selling us fix-its and 3) the atonement as a violent act of appeasement). —North Carolina
I have never, ever read any explanation or illustration of God's grace as powerful as the one Greg Albrecht gave in his Fall PT article "She Doesn't Deserve This."—British Columbia, Canada
A friend gave me a copy of a recent Plain Truth magazine. It is always a joy to see the Lord's people pointing the way to him. Today it seems many people, particularly young people, have no moral compass. The article "Praying for More Lasagna" demonstrates this. Jesus didn't heal everyone. As this article points out, it is not our job to change people—it is our job is to be salt and light and point the way to Jesus. Jesus changes people.—New Hampshire
Your ministry has been a lifeline of help and encouragement to me for years. I am from Iran, and shortly after coming to this country, as a non-practicing Muslim, I became interested in Christianity. I had many negative experiences along the way—including the Jehovah's Witnesses—but your ministry and teachings have been a source of light and illumination to me. I believe God has used you to bring me into a real relationship with himself—PTM has helped me in so many ways. I can't wait to receive each issue of Plain Truth—when it comes I devour it, cover to cover. I can never thank you enough for all your help! —Arizona
What a powerful, moving article on forgiveness in the latest Plain Truth. You've taught me so much! Isn't it amazing that squiggles on paper can impart meaning, convey emotions and move our hearts? —Tennessee
Thanks for the article about the "slippery shenanigans" of altar calls in the Spring issue of Plain Truth. Glen Moyer's exposé on the religious abuse of altar calls is so necessary. It is easy to see why Glen is an "award-winning writer." His analogical quips are so clever! For example: "…you're squeezing me like the IRS in April," and "Altar calls are as integral to…evangelism as butter is to popcorn…and can be just as slick." —California
I am thoroughly enjoying my new Plain Truth magazine. I really like it all but I just want to say thanks in particular for Greg Albrecht's commentary "Need More Compassion?" It sums up in a very concise way how God's grace and love enable us to do what is good. What relief, freedom and joy come when one begins to truly understand this! —Alberta, Canada
