Question: I just found Plain Truth today. I just want to ask you: How did you and the people you work with now start the magazine? How did you find each other? Where did you start? I am just curious to know what brought about this great magazine.

Answer: Jeff,

The Plain Truth is a renewed and reformed magazine, going by the same name as a magazine which was extremely different in past decades. Part of our zeal of the "new" Plain Truth comes from experiencing and witnessing the pitfalls that Christians can fall into, and believing that God changed us to give us an opportunity to warn others about majoring in the minors. Those minors include such topics as 1) legalism of all shapes and varieties, 2) prediction addiction – the never ending date-setting that besets the Christian church, with all of the negative fallout and results, and 3) exclusivism and denominationalism – ideas of thinking that we are better and superior than other Christians because we have "better" doctrines and practices – those are just a few of the themes that we cover and re-cover, for they are pernicious, alive, and well today – and need to be combated.

We like the old hermeneutical bromide – focus on the plain and the main things of the Bible, for the rest is peripheral and can often divide and confuse Christians. The main things are the plain things and the plain things are the main things.
