Question: Luke 11:2 says to pray for his kingdom to come and for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. My question is…….I pray for that day. Is that wrong? To pray for the end of the world? I feel guilty sometimes because I feel like I’m praying for the tribulation to happen.

Answer: Dear Kelly,

We should not feel guilty about praying "thy kingdom come" – for in reality we are praying for God’s will to be perfectly done. We do not know what is involved in bringing that kingdom to pass, whether it be in the present or future dimension. That is God’s business. Our desire ought to be to see God’s will done more perfectly than it is now – and "thy kingdom come" expresses that desire and hope well.
