I like reading from different translations of the Bible. What do you consider good and accurate translations? And what are some that I should avoid? And why?

We have an article on-line that will answer your questions – and more! On our website, click on "Plain Truth Online" – some recent back issues will be posted as well as our current issue. At the bottom where it says, "More Back issues" – click on this and then scroll down to 1997, the May/June issue. This four page article covers the "King James Only" debate, background on the more modern translations, including the NIV and includes two sidebars – "The NIV on Trial" and "Popular Bible Versions". Very helpful overview and will answer your questions, Jimmy.
