Question:
You say many teachings in the Catholic Church are
unbiblical. For example, the
adoration of Mary, mother of Jesus. Surely
recent Marian apparitions and bleeding/weeping statues of Mary and Jesus in
various parts of the world (like Madugorje, and Naju) are signs from God and
cannot be dismissed as false off-hand. What
about Fatima and Lourdes? Rosary
praying is always encouraged, repentance urged by the Blessed Virgin at these
places, through the Visionaries. Surely
God won’t use an unbiblical (un-Christian) means to reach to the world.
Your
views, please.

Answer: Dear Lydia,
When
we use the term “unbiblical” we do not necessarily equate it with
un-Christian. We answer questions
based upon the Bible. We do our
best to confine our comments to the Bible.
Indeed, the practice you mention below are without biblical authority or
proof. What God does or does not
do, how He does it, what His will for us individually can be, etc., can be
highly subjective interpretations. We
try to remain within biblical revelation in the answers we give.
In
Christ,
