Question:
To whom it may concern,
The
other day in my English class the subject of evolution came up.
As I was trying to express my opinion and beliefs in creation I realized
that I didn’t have that much information to back up my opinion.
I got stuck at the question of how people came about having different
races. How did our planet come
about having people with really dark skin colors?
I have other questions too, but this is enough for now.

Answer: Dear Josh,
This
issue isn’t really a contradiction of what the Bible teaches.
The Bible tells us that God created life – including humans.
Life forms didn’t evolve from nothing, according to the Bible, but our
Creator God caused life to come into existence from nothing.
The
Bible does not tell us how each race was created – according to the Bible Adam
and Eve were the first humans, so the only logical explanation is that all races
have the same father and mother. This
means that no race is superior or inferior to another, but rather we all have
the same father and mother. The
gospel of Jesus Christ tells us the same thing, that we are al one in Christ,
regardless of our race (Ephesians 2:11-22).
We
encourage you to keep studying Josh – both your schoolwork and the Bible!
