Question: Dear Greg,
How
should we use the blood of Jesus when praying for protection?
We were getting a lot of spiritual attacks on us.
Since praying for the blood of Jesus it’s stopped.
What does the Bible say about it, and what is your idea on it?
Thank
you,
Hedley
Answer: Dear Hedley,
First,
in all respect, I defer to your pastor – for there are issues that I cannot
know about or address in this brief note. Second,
some of what is taught under the general heading of “spiritual warfare” is
not too far removed from superstition and animism.
We do not, as God’s own children, need to recite any mantras or special
phrases, whether they have biblical or divine reference or not.
God does not respond to any one special articulation of language more
than another. God responds to the
heart.
The
blood of Christ has deep and profound spiritual significance concerning the
complete and sufficient atoning work of Christ on the cross.
It is available to all that accept, believe and trust in the Lord, and is
not accessed by any special words or phrases.
The
books of Romans and Hebrews would make an excellent study on this topic, as well
as Galatians and Colossians.
May
God bless you.
In
Christ,
Greg Albrecht
