Question:  Dear Greg,

When people use the phrase “post-Christian era” I think of the falling away that is said to occur before Christ’s return in 2 Thessalonians.  Would you please explain what this phrase means, and what your beliefs are about it?

            Thanks,

            Mary

Answer:  Dear Mary,

Most people, when using the term “post-Christian era” (a term not specifically used in the Bible) use it in the sense of morality, lack of interest in God and Christianity, etc.  They do not use this term in a prophetic sense—in terms of a specific fulfillment of a specific prophecy of one event, but in terms of a general lack of interest in things of God (which of course is prophesied, for example, 2 Timothy 3:1-5).

            In Christ,

            Greg Albrecht
