Question:  Brother Greg,

My question concerns the Trinity.  Does the “Holy Spirit” represent the third part of the Trinity?

            Raymond

Answer:  Dear Raymond,

Yes, the Holy Spirit is the third person of the triune God, who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  God is one, yet three co-essential and co-equal divine Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  For example, we baptize in the name (not names) of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Though three, they are one—they have one name: God.  The Holy Spirit is God.  You may wish to briefly note a few passages in the book of Acts—Acts 5:3-4, 8:29, 10:19, 11:12, 13:2, 20:23 and 21:11.  Under “Ask Greg” we have a category titled “Trinity”.  You may click on this category and you will be presented with a number of questions.  Simply click on the “A” of the Q/A that precedes each question for the answer.

            In Christ,

            Greg Albrecht
