Question: Greg,
How can the Bible talk about the time Jesus was alone? How did biblical authors know what happened when Jesus was
tempted by the devil? No one else
was present. Please respond, I have
been wondering for a long time.
Thank you,
Taylee
Answer: Dear
Taylee,
There are a number of such explanations in the Bible
that are given to the original authors by God’s inspiration.
We read, for example, what Jesus was thinking.
The authors did not know what Jesus was thinking—that information had
to be revealed to them. The
temptation, to which you refer, is another example.
No other human being was present. This
had to be revealed by God, or quite possibly, Jesus himself told the author
about what happened, after the fact.
In Christ,
Greg Albrecht
