            Who wrote the Bible and how authentic is it?  Is it completely accurate?  What sort of writing style is it in?

Answer:  Dear Tam,

            The Bible is composed of 66 books written by many different authors over a time span of several thousand years.  Even though most of these authors did not know each other, and many did not have reference to their fellow authors’ writings, they all have come to the same conclusions.  In many cases, later authors have confirmed (as secular history and archaeology do) that the prophesies of earlier writers came true.  Christians believe that God is the one author of Holy Scripture, who inspired al of the individual authors.  God chose the human authors and used their creativity and personalities to convey the message he inspired them with.

            Human authors used many different linguistic styles (poetry, narrative, history, proverbs, parables, apocalyptic, law, letters, etc.) to convey the message that God gave to them—to give to us.
