Question:
Dear Greg,
I know this is a BIG
question, but what is the major difference between the Islamic and Christian
views of life? Can you boil this
down?
Thanks,
Bob
Answer: Dear Bob,
Yes,
here’s a “boiled down” version. First,
there are three of the major world religions that are generally regarded as
similar in that they are monotheistic—i.e. they believe in one God.
All other world religions are polytheistic—believing in more than one
god.
The
three are Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.
How are these three different? Many
ways, but critically—Christianity is the only one of these three, or any
religion at all, for that matter, that insists that God came down to this earth
in the person of Jesus to save us. God
became one of us, because of his love.
The
difference? Jesus Christ, his death
on the cross, his victorious resurrection, his life now lived in those who
believe in him and accept him.
In
Christ,
