Question:  Dear Greg,

            Doesn’t the Holy Bible prophesy that the entire world will be a dictatorship under anti-Christ?  So, if it’s a foregone conclusion that global dictatorship is destined to happen, how do you suppose that end will begin coming together?  Won’t engineered atrocities and their obligatory response be part of it all?

Answer:  Dear Joey,

            The Holy Spirit doesn’t prophesy that the entire world will be a dictatorship under anti-Christ in the sense of only some future apocalyptic event.  In fact, the Holy Spirit said that the state of the world has been just that for a long time—at the very least since the writing of the book of Revelation.  We have been under such a culture for at least 2000 years.  So this is not news, it’s history.

            Engineered atrocities and responses are part of our history books—and a part of our newspapers right now.  Even apart from the Bible one doesn’t have to do too much forecasting, or be an actuary, to determine that tomorrow will be more of yesterday and today until something dramatic occurs.  The Bible says that something dramatic will occur, but the Bible also tells us that we will not know when.  Names like Stalin, Lenin, Hitler and Mao-Tse Tung have been very much part of human reality, apart from God.  They are history—they and the atrocities they perpetrated are past.
