Question:  Dear Greg,

            I was wondering if you could tell me the verse(s) that say that aborted/stillborn babies automatically go to heaven.  They have not had the chance to decide for or against Christ.

Answer:  Dear Jaime,

            The Bible does not speak specifically about what happens to the souls of those who die before they are born.  There are assumptions and presumptions and principles that can be drawn from the Bible, but to my knowledge there is no dogmatic end-all passage that will speak to this topic.  Given God’s nature and the Bible’s revelation of his attributes, when the Bible does not expressly speak about such an issue it would be safe to assume the best, rather than the worst.  However, we should note that such a conclusion would be conjecture—an assumption and a speculation.
