does not believe that a Christian who is given eternal life will forfeit that
eternal life because of something that they do or fail to do.
Whether a person who does or does not do a particular thing is a
Christian in the first place is another matter—some behaviors would be an
obvious indicator that they may never have been a Christian.
Causes
for breakdowns or breakups in marriage—divorces—are not as easy to judge.
The Bible gives us no specific teachings that marrying someone who is not
a Christian is a de facto proof that someone is not a Christian himself.
In fact, there are many marriages that are miserable and both parties
claim to be Christian—and on the other hand, marriages where both parties are
happy and contented but one is Christian and the other not, or where both
parties are not Christian.
