Question:
Dear Greg,
Near
the end of one of your radio programs you said, “faith is not for the
fainthearted”! Persistent anxiety
has ruined my life. Biblical and
medical applications have failed to rid me of it.
Is salvation possible for the fainthearted?
Lee
Answer: Dear Lee,
The
faith of which I spoke is a gift of God, a product of what he does within us.
We do not have to worry about trying to muster up faith—God’s faith
is a gift. “Those who hope in the
Lord will renew their strength. They
will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk
and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Entrance
into God’s Hall of Faith is by God’s grace, not by our human efforts and
abilities. God knows our frame and
he understands our weaknesses. Though
we are weak he makes us strong (see 2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
In
Christ,
Greg
