Question:  Dear Sir,

About a year ago I started to notice that more and more of the Plain Truth articles are attacking other beliefs.  I thought you were to love your neighbor, not try to let the world know how wrong you think he is.

I guess what really got to me was an article about being left behind.  As far as I can tell all you were trying to do is let the world know just how stupid you think most Christians are.

Plain Truth was much better when it tried to teach the Bible and when it was not trying to shove it down our throats.  I don’t think I want to read it anymore.  If you ever get to teaching the Bible again let me know.

Answer:  Dear Jeff,

Thank you for taking the time to send us your thoughts.  While we don’t agree with your conclusions, we absolutely support your right to disagree and to independently study the Bible and come to differing conclusions than we do.

We believe that the world is filled with people who are enslaved by religion, who need authentic Christianity--the freedom in Christ Paul spoke of in the book of Galatians.  We know that many believe the Left Behind series as gospel truth, when in fact it is nothing but fiction.  We dispute the interpretive method used by its authors and point out that it is a relatively new method that Christians for over 1700 years had no knowledge of, and somehow still were able to know God and enjoy an intimate relationship with him.

We do not want to malign, impugn or denigrate—but instead to inform and point out shortcomings in views that can lead to hurt, misery and disillusionment (which is usually the fruit of non-essential views that become a crusade in the minds of their proponents).

We support everything we say with the Bible, spending time to answer all reasonable questions from a biblically based, Christ centered position.  In so doing we step on toes.  That is one result of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

            May God bless you, Jeff.

            In Christ,

            Greg Albrecht
