Question:  Dear Greg,

            Will there still be marriage in the kingdom of heaven?  If your spouse dies and you remarry, which spouse would you be with?  I believe I once read in the Scriptures that there is no marriage in heaven the way that we have “marriage” in this life.  Any answers?

Answer:  Dear Lucie,

            Jesus says, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage, they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30 ).  This same statement is repeated in Mark 12:25 and in Luke 20:35 .  Thus, it isn’t a matter of “being with” your spouse in the kingdom of heaven as we are with them on earth.  We will be with them eternally, not in an exclusive physical way, but with them eternally as we will be with God eternally.
