Question:  Dear Greg ,

I am leery of your watered down approach to Christianity.  It seems as though for your “church”, anything goes.  From an article I read on your website concerning the Book of Revelation, it is made to seem like it is just a fluke book that you would prefer rather not be included in the Bible.

I am concerned that you can so casually dismiss the appearing of the saints with Christ at the Second Coming.  Maybe I am missing something.  I am earnestly seeking the truth.  Your teaching doesn’t ring true for some reason.

            Please defend yourself in response.

            In Christ’s love,

            Susan

Answer:  Dear Susan,

Thanks for your concern.  PTM actively encourages all believers to question their faith, and for that matter, the teachings and beliefs of others that may not be aligned with the Bible.  So we welcome your questions.

First, PTM is not a church.  We are a media ministry—trans/inter/non-denominational.  We have a number of resources available about the book of Revelation, about predictive prophecy, the “end times”, the “Rapture”, etc.  I don’t know which of these to which you have reference.

If we have given you any idea that we “dismiss the appearing of the saints with Christ at the Second Coming” please forgive us.  We are passionately committed to the main and plain teachings of Scripture—to the essential, core doctrines of Christianity.  At the same time, we are passionate about our mission to help people realize that man-made religious traditions, along with religious legalism has hijacked many Christians—and is an ever present virus ready to diminish authentic, Christ-centered Christianity into churchianity.

We absolutely believe in the bodily return of Jesus Christ.  At the same time, we have been around the block a few times on the little red wagon of prediction addiction, and we are also committed to the goal of helping people realize that their faith must be in Jesus.  Their faith cannot be in a Rapture teaching, a series of books telling them they might be left behind or a prophecy preacher who uses a methodology that has been wrong over and over again, etc.  We believe these kinds of things are blemishes, spots and wrinkles in the body of Christ, and have little if nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and may even be detrimental to faith.

The fact that we do not fulminate hyperbole with wild, irresponsible accusations about another fulfillment of prophecy, leading people on, keeping them addicted so that they simply await another prophecy fix via some misquoted and out-of-context passage from Revelation or one of the Old Testament prophets—the fact that we do not engage in such grandstanding does not mean we are not dedicated believers in the Second Coming.  One does not need to make wild predictions to prove one’s convictions—and if such is the proof of true Christianity, then hundreds of million of Christians are sunk.

Jesus is the center of our work, our mission and our objective.  I hope this answers your question.  We have a brochure we can send you that tells you more about the ongoing media work of PTM.

            In Christ,

            Greg Albrecht
