Question: Dear Greg,
In the gospels, it speaks of Jesus’ temptation by Satan. It is recorded what Satan said to Jesus and what Jesus said to Satan. How do we know what Jesus and Satan said when only two of them were present? I personally believe it took place like it said in the Bible, but I do wonder how the writers got that specific information as it is recorded?

Answer: Dear Bill,
There are many examples in the Bible like the one to which you have reference. For example, the Gospels tell us what Jesus was thinking. How could a human observer have known such a thing? The answer is that the same God who was Jesus in the flesh was the Divine Author of the Bible, inspiring all the authors of the Bible, both in the Old Testament as well as the New. There were authors, of course, who saw and witnessed events that they wrote about, but the Divine Author filled in those events that they did not personally see or experience.
In Christ,
