Question:
Dear Greg,
I
just finished listening to your radio program, “Are You a Spiritual Loner?”
and I am left with one huge question: faith without works is dead.
How can “faith as a grain of mustard seed” do good works?
How can we exercise our faith to make works?
Edward
Answer: Dear Edward,
The
answer lies in whose faith is represented by the grain of mustard seed.
Jesus is not talking about anything we humans produce in terms of this
mustard seed. The Bible says that if
we believe in and accept Jesus Christ he will give us his faith, and that he
will produce good works in us (Ephesians 2:10).
We do not need more of our faith. We
need the faith of our Lord and Savior, which can only be given to us by God’s
grace.
In
Christ,
Greg
