Question:  Dear Greg,

I would like to know where I could read more about the history of the people of “the way”.  Which language does the term originate from and what was the precursor religion before “the way”?

            Vincent

Answer:  Dear Vincent,

It sounds as if you are speaking of passages in the book of Acts that use the term “way” as descriptive of early Christians.  The “way” was a term used by the Roman world to distinguish Jewish Christians from Jews, and the precursor to Christianity was Judaism, as defined by the old covenant and the laws that Jews had added to it.

            In Christ,
