Question:  Dear Greg,

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 the Bible says “pray without ceasing”.  We cannot spend all our time on our knees.  How are we to obey this command?

            Dale

Answer:  Dear Dale,

It is not necessary to be on our knees when we pray.  This passage is ipso facto proof.  We pray without ceasing--praying as we walk, as we brush our teeth, as we commute, as we go about the many tasks of our day.  Praying without ceasing means that there are no formal confines of prayer and there is no necessary/required posture or geographical place—we can pray at all times and in all places.

            In Christ,
