Question:  Greg,

Concerning baptism, I truly appreciate and agree with the concept that it is God’s power that saves, and that our actions alone are unable to save us.

God saved Noah and his family.  He used an ark to do it!  Naturally, God saves sinners.  He uses baptism to do it.  Baptism is a requirement.

Answer:  Hello Michael,

You conclude, “Baptism is a requirement.”  I agree that baptism is required, but it is not required in order that we might be saved.  The ark was the tool or vehicle God used.  The ark didn’t save Noah—God saved Noah.

Baptism is what we do because we are saved.  It is a requirement that Christ in us (Galatians 2:20 ) fulfills in us as we become his workmanship (Ephesians 2:10 ).

            In Christ,
