Question: .
Since much of the Bible is history, why aren't there more chapters being added all the time to reflect the new events that are happening and have happened since the time of Christ?

Answer:
Dear Wanda,
Your question strikes close to the heart and core of Christianity. Christianity asks, and answers the questions - "Is there a God? If there is, what does he want me to do? Does he have any plan for me? What does he want me to do with my life? Does he have an instructions for me? Or, am I on my own, and my life only has meaning as and when I find meaning for it? Why am I here? How did I come to be alive? Is Darwin correct, and is evolution correct - or does the Bible have the answers for human existence?"
Christians believe that we are here for a reason, that God is the creator, and that he does have a plan for our lives. We believe that the Bible is central to this plan, for in it he communicates to us.
Some claim that there are writings (often the claim is made by those who believe those writings just happen to be ones they have written, or that their leader has) which are "on a par" with the Bible. Perhaps the "Book of Mormon" is the most widely known of these books. Such individuals do not deny the Bible, but they believe that the Bible wasn't the end of God's written revelation.
Orthodox Christians disagree - and for good reason. The Bible itself states that there is no other written source that is "on a par" with it - no other book that is divinely inspired, as the Bible internally claims.
Christians believe that there are plenty of proofs that the Bible is uniquely, divinely, and infallibly inspired, valid, and accurate - and would cite fulfilled prophecy, the record of history and archaeology, etc. as a few of these proofs.
I hope this helps!
In Christ's service,
