What our readers and listeners say
Loyalty to Christ
While doing a Bible study on Colossians, I read in the NIV Study Bible under the theme, "Christ is head of the Church," that "No person, group, or church can regard any loyalty as more critical than that of loyalty to Christ." Then, I heard a pastor on the radio saying (with regard to Hebrews 10:25) if any Christian did not attend a church, he or she would not be blessed by God. Besides being a major guilt trip, this sounds like loyalty to some church is being put above loyalty to God. It may be the greatest expression of putting God first by NOT going to some church, particularly if they are teaching things that are not Biblical truth. God's blessing does not depend on our being in church, tithing or any other rule. As Colossians 3:1 says, if we are raised with Christ, we are to seek those things above where he sits at his Father's right hand. You don't need to be in a building to do that. As you say, Greg, it's faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone. -- New YorkHaiti
AMEN to your article about Haiti! I'm so glad you wrote this. Keep speaking out! Pat Robertson needs to be stopped. Even if what he said were true, bashing the Haitians at a time like this.......wow.........cold. Makes us real, loving Christians look bad to non believers who think we are all alike! -- EmailNurturing environment
PTM/CWR is such a gentle, nurturing enviroment for anyone being drawn to allow Jesus Christ to lead them out of religion. I label it as an entry level eduction as to Who and what God's Grace is all about. -- Ohio
This is what I have been looking for in a ministry -- no legalism, and freedom in Christ. -- EmailRETURN TO PTM WEEKLY UPDATE CONTENTS PAGE
