PTM WEEKLY UPDATE -- JUNE 29, 2009

In the July PTM Partner Letter -- “If you did it for one of the least . . . you did it for me”

God calls on those who have accepted his love to tell others of that same love. He calls on us to point the way to the same life-giving Source who has given us the true Bread of life. This is the mission of PTM. In the name of Jesus we are giving people a cup of spiritual cold water, thus helping to meet the real spiritual needs of their hearts and souls. PTM does its work much like a spiritual soup kitchen, providing deeply needed spiritual nourishment for impoverished souls.

In the parable of the sheep and goats (Matthew 25:31-46) Jesus says to his sheep, those who accepted his grace, ‘…Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me’ (Matthew 25:34-36). Jesus depicts his followers as being unable to remember when, exactly, they did any of these things for Jesus. Jesus replies, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’ (Matthew 25:40).
