PTM WEEKLY UPDATE -- OCTOBER 27, 2008

What our readers and listeners say

Eureka!
Editor's comment:  We recently sent out a special email message letting new people know about particular CWR services. Here's one of the responses, from Canada:
Subject: Grace without Reservation
Upon reading your "trailer" for  your sermon (and after pondering for many years the parable in Matthew 7, about the narrow road and the broad road, and feeling that most preachers were somehow missing the point), my inner voice shouted "Eureka! I think he's got it!" Thanks Greg!! That is a truly inspired interpretation of this passage, I do believe. -- Canada

Armstrongism remembered
Regarding last week's PTM Weekly Update lead article, "Do You Still Believe in Armstrongism?" -- beginning in 1954, my own radio program followed that of Herbert W. Armstrong. I told my audience that his predictions were not true and would never come to pass. Not many listened, but later, they learned. Herbert's son, Garner Ted, married Shirley Hammer, a girl in my high school class, so I have known pretty much the whole story since almost the beginning (including all of those mistakes that you mention). God bless you in studying with an open mind, heart and Bible. -- Ron McRay, Ph.D.; LiTT -- Texas
