Jots and Tittles: Jesus’ most foundational message, the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), begins with the Beatitudes (“Blessed are they…) and proceeds with the call to live as salt and light in this world. Challenging and inspiring, to be sure. But the following verses are more perplexing, especially to New Covenant believers: “I've not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it.
